Nominations for 2017 MN Climate Adaptation Awards are Open!

The Minnesota Climate Adaptation Awards, presented by the MN Climate Adaptation Partnership, recognize and celebrate exceptional achievements in leadership, education, research, policies, and practices that improve resilience and develop, advance, or implement climate adaptation strategies. 2017 Nominations are now being accepted in the categories of individual, organization, institution, and business. ULI Minnesota convenes “Southwest LRT: A Story of Collaboration and Development”

On Wednesday, January 11th, ULI Minnesota convened a forum in the St. Louis Park City Hall Council Chambers to share how the prospect of light rail transit (LRT) catalyzed corridor-wide collaboration among Hennepin County and the five cities with stations along the proposed route. This resulted in a shared housing strategy, an investment framework, and the development of innovative financial tools and policies that are producing dense, walkable, mixed-use and mixed-income developments throughout the corridor. Livable Communities Design Workshops Available!

The Metropolitan Council offers optional design workshops for Livable Communities grant applicants aimed at improving the design of Livable Communities projects. A panel of urban designers, landscape architects, and architects review project designs and provide feedback to LCA applicants before full applications are submitted.
