YLG and NEXT

Developing, educating, and growing young real estate professionals.

“I’ve broadened my perspective, contributed to meaningful regional conversations, and established a strong professional network. The experience has been a fun mix of learning and doing.” Danyelle Pierquet, RLA, LANDFORM project lead, Past co-chair ULI MN Young Leaders Group

YLG and NEXT

The ULI Minnesota Young Leaders Group (YLG) is a forum for young professionals and students involved in the Minnesota real estate community for ULI members under 35 years. The YLG offers unique opportunities for networking with peers while gaining exposure to senior industry professionals.  With nearly 100 active members and its own Advisory Board, YLG continues to grow, attracting some of the region’s best and brightest young talent.

YLG Mentor Program

The YLG launched a ULI MN Mentorship Program in Summer 2011. Each month, assigned groups meet with a different mentor for lunch. The Mentor Program begins in the Fall every year and runs through May. Look for more information for the 2015-2016 Mentorship Program in late summer 2015.

YLG Annual Program

YLG’s annual programs have been great successes! Each year the YLG annual program attracts a wide variety of attendees with cutting edge topics. This year, the YLG has planned a series of project tours throughout the year. Don’t miss them!

P2P (Peer-toPeer)

P2P (Peer to Peer) is a new series of programs from Minnesota ULI Young Leaders’ Group that allows small groups of young real estate professionals from the public and private sector to connect with their peers in an informal atmosphere and discuss contemporary issues in real estate.  For each P2P session, a YLG member selects a cutting edge topic for discussion (no need to be an expert in the topic in order to lead a P2P session, you just need to have an interest in the subject matter).  Attendance at each P2P session is capped at 12, to allow for a productive and intimate conversation between all the attendees. The YLG discussion leader may circulate news articles or other materials for discussion related to the topic prior to the event.  Events are held at Bev’s Wine Bar at 250 3rd Ave. North, Minneapolis, MN 55401.  This is an exclusive free event for ULI YLG Members and guests of current ULI YLG Members.

ULI MN NEXT

The NEXT mission is to provide high-value, relationship-driven small groups to connect mid-career professionals (ages 35-45) committed to intentional long-term leadership and support for peers. The NEXT structure is a small group of 10-15 individual ULI members committed to meet monthly. Meetings consist of 1 hour brown bag lunches alternating between group-led discussion and outside speakers on relevant topics. ULI membership is required. The focus is on how to lead from the middle, support each other in mid-career challenges and share best practices for effective leadership for both direct reports as well as managers.
