Regional Council of Mayors
LEADING INTO THE FUTURE: The nationally recognized Regional Council of Mayors (RCM) is a nonpartisan coalition building civic trust through connected relationships, inquiry, positive intentions, and collective action focused on issues of regional significance.
Equip mayors for unifying, complex, adaptive leadership
Exchange of ideas and emerging innovation
Seek to understand and find the common good
Foster access, inclusion, diversity, and equity
The nationally recognized Regional Council of Mayors (RCM) was formed in 2004 as a voluntary opportunity for regional mayors to convene and focus on issues of regional significance. The RCM provides a nonpartisan platform for networking, learning, collaboration, and action that supports the region’s overall economic competitiveness, prosperity and quality of life. The RCM forms initiative advisory committees to catalyze action strategies focused on relevant and timely issues, e.g., housing, environment, transportation, jobs, healthy communities.
Minnesota Mayors Together
In 2017, the RCM launched Minnesota Mayors Together out of a concern that what divides us is impacting our ability to reach our full potential as a state.
Minnesota Mayors Together provides a way forward. The initiative seeks to build trusted relationships by fostering hopeful conversations and collaboration across Minnesota. The goal is to shift a negative culture, not to build a structure.
