Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Advanced degree desirable.
  • 5-7 years of commercial real estate appraisal and valuation, property or asset management, commercial real estate lending, financial management or a combination.

Job Description

Position Purpose

This position will provide financial analysis (including but not limited to development, leasing, financing, sales, acquisitions and valuations), research, and administrative and tactical project support. This position will be expected to make significant contributions to development and the constant improvement of department processes with the objective of maximizing efficiency, consistency, completeness and accuracy. This position is also responsible for assessing performance relative to relevant benchmarks and preparing reports that recommend action to be taken.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support for Amira Senior Living, United Properties Development (UPD), and United Properties Investment (UPI).
  • Provide support to developers, asset managers, and project managers in all aspects of property strategies.
  • Prepare development proformas in a timely and accurate manner. Run multiple scenarios to support developer decision making.
  • Provide bank and permanent financing support to CFO and EVP, Capital Markets.
  • Tactical project support and integral involvement in all aspects of client service, to help speed the process and facilitate the accomplishment of all project objectives.
  • Perform research to gather and manage property ownership information, transaction data, specific property information and general market activity in support of Amira Senior Living projects, UPD, and UPI.
  • Reporting, analysis, due diligence, planning and forecasting.
  • Day-to-day project management along with interaction with multiple people inside and outside the UPI companies.
  • Critical market knowledge and professional development are essential for this role.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in real estate valuation techniques including discounted cash flows and internal rate of returns and real estate market analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience in commercial real estate including the ability to analyze and understand lease documents, financial statements, property budgets and basic building systems.
  • High degree of computer literacy and working knowledge of business software applications specifically (ARGUS), Microsoft Excel/Word/Power Point, and an understanding of various database applications.
  • Demonstrated numerical and analytical skills required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Organizational ability and exceptional attention to detail, specifically ability to schedule and manage multiple priorities and work successfully with tight timelines.
  • General knowledge of all facets of income property.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities and assignments.
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear, simple way.
  • Interpersonal skills are critical in interacting with support staff, property managers, leasing agents, outside professionals, investors/owners, vendors and clients.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative and driven professional environment.
